Princess Theatre Private Suites reveal stunning renovation

New Premium Lounge and Private Suites to be unveiled

Melbourne’s iconic Princess Theatre has undergone a magnificent refurbishment, and now it’s time to unveil the newly designed Premium Lounge and Private Suites. The area has been transformed to include thre main areas – the Marriner Room, Melba Room and Wintergarden Bar, all of which can be hired separately or utilised together to create this highly sought-after event space. A perfect area to enjoy before a show or to entertain clients or VIP guests, the space comes complete with bespoke décor and furniture and award- winning catering – an experience sure to impress.

The private lounge will be open 90 minutes prior to a show, between shows and during intervals. Guests have the opportunity to order from a specially designed in-house menu and can enjoy a welcome drink and hors d’oeuvres created by Executive Chef of all the Marriner Group venues, David Ricardo. Guests can also choose from an extensive wine list, complimentary soft drinks, a souvenir program, private restrooms and cloak check. This decadent space is also available for private hire for a degustation dinner or cocktail function for up to 50 guests. David Ricardo is delighted to be able to offer an innovative menu that exceeds Melbourne’s high expectations, and the wines have been carefully selected by an in-house sommelier.

The stunning interior of the suites has been designed by Geraldine Maher from Maher Design (who also designed the new bars at the Forum in 2017). “The new Private Suites at Melbourne’s beloved Princess Theatre offer a premium experience in luxurious surroundings. Inspired by the richness of the theatre’s early 19th century Victorian architecture, the interiors of the Private Suites possess a luxurious modern spirit with a nod to the past. Furnished with opulent patterned carpet, lush velvets and dramatic dark walls, patrons will be absorbed in the glamour and sophistication of the Princess’ unrivalled theatrical offering.”

“Since the inception of the bespoke hospitality offerings at the Princess Theatre some 30 years ago, these VIP experiences have proven to be one of our most popular hospitality offerings. Our challenge has been to ensure the product remains relevant in an ever changing marketplace, achieved with the unique combination of a world class show, our iconic landmark venue and award-winning hospitality.” Jason Marriner, CEO, Marriner Group
