NETS Victoria welcomes new board members and incoming Chair Bec Cole

NETS Victoria is delighted to welcome incoming Board Members, Dr David Sequeira, Dr Tammy Wong Hulbert, Nasalifya Namugala Namwinga and Michael Fox.

NETS Victoria farewells Penny Teale as outgoing Chair and welcomes incoming Chair and ongoing Board Member Bec Cole.

The organisation also acknowledges significant terms on the Board by outgoing members, Catherine Pierce and Lyn Johnson.

Outgoing Board Member Ben Macauley will be handing over the role of Treasurer to the Arts Accountant and Director of Fox Galleries, Michael Fox.

Hester Lyon will be joining the Development and Fundraising Committee alongside Chair Jan van Schaik, Michael Fox, Dr David Sequeira and Bec Cole.

Bec Cole, a palawa woman and Director Creative Arts at Latrobe Regional Gallery says “It is a great privilege to be elected as Chair after joining the NETS Board of Management just over a year ago. I am so proud to be leading through our new values: Collaborative Leadership, Empowerment, Radical Transparency, Integrity and Diversity. I thank outgoing Chair Penny Teale for her commitment to the organisation during a time of rapid transition and look forward to building on the significant work we’ve achieved last year for a more inclusive arts program and organisation, in 2021 and beyond.”

The Director of NETS Victoria Claire Watson says: “We’re thrilled to welcome new members to our Board and Advisory Committees. We thank all departing members and especially the significant and tireless work of outgoing Chair Penny Teale, who supported significant organisational change during 2020.” Outgoing Chair Penny Teale says: “I cannot wait to see NETS Victoria’s new vision to be implemented. I am filled with optimism for a more sustainable, authentic and collaborative visual arts sector for 2021 and beyond.”
