LAUNCH LIMITED EDITION SINGLE ORIGIN COFFEE LIQUEUR
Score a lockdown fix from Australia’s cult coffee icons
With the current restrictions on daily life brought about by COVID, many residents of Australia’s capital of coffee may be missing their daily fix, or looking for an evening indulgence under curfew. Some leaders of Aussie coffee culture have an answer, with the launch of a special edition Single Origin Coffee Liqueur.
This top-notch tipple is the result of an exclusive collaboration between NSW roaster and distiller Mr Black and Melbourne coffee pioneers, ST. ALi, two legends of the Australian beverage scene who have come together in the eye of the COVID storm to give Aussies what they love most.
ST. ALi, a Melbourne institution for over 15 years, is known for its dedication to the brew, cutting no corners when it comes to sourcing, roasting and processing speciality coffee. While currently only open for takeaway, this new collab is another chance to support local businesses, whilst rewarding yourself with a treat that will heighten your appreciation of coffee and booze.
Mr Black is a natural ally to the coffee pioneers, sharing the same philosophy, blending the world’s best coffee liqueur at its NSW-based roastery and distillery, reflecting Australia’s increasingly discerning tastes.
On a pilgrimage to Peru, ST ALi handpicked the ‘El Diamante’ coffee used in the Single Origin Coffee Liqueur, sourced from a single farm 2,000 metres above sea level. Mr Black’s ‘Head of Coffee’ worked with the brains trustfrom ST. ALi on roasting, and then blending the clean combination of Peruvian Cold Brew Coffee with Australian wheat vodka and a little sugar.
Mr Black Founder, Tom Baker comments, “I’ve been a big fan of ST. ALi since I first visited them in South Melbourne some ten years ago, so to be collaborating together a decade later is pretty special. The goal of this collab was to make something fun and bloody tasty to take the edge off 2020, and give some support to our mates in the coffee industry who are having a hard time of it now.”
ST. ALi owner Salvatore Malatesta agrees, “Times are tough for all of us at the moment especially for independent crafters and creators. With people spending most of their hours at home right now, the timing seemed right to partner up and release this indulgent distraction to the world.”
