Grace Knight comes to Hawthorn Arts Centre

Australian jazz icon and vocal powerhouse, Grace Knight, will take over the Hawthorn Arts Centre stage on Friday 23 March. Regarded as one of the finest interpreters of popular music in Australia, Grace’s impressive career spans 40 years and includes multiple ARIA awards and nominations. Accompanied by a soulful ensemble of musicians, Grace Knight in Concert is set to be a spellbinding performance not to be missed.

In the early 1980s Grace shot to fame as lead singer of internationally acclaimed band, Eurogliders. She has since gone on to perform for five Australian Prime Ministers, Princess Diana and President Clinton and continues to captivate audiences with her magnetic stage presence and ability to connect with people of all ages.

Grace said: “I can’t wait to play at Hawthorn Arts Centre, it’s such a beautiful old building and I’ll be performing songs from right across my 40 year career. I’ll even throw in a Eurogliders’ classic or two.”

Grace’s string of acclaimed albums explore a contemporary take on jazz favourites. Her fourth album Willow was nominated for the Best Jazz Album at the 2008 ARIA Awards, as well as Keep Cool Fool, which also received a nomination in 2012. Her eighteenth album titled Grace is slated for release this March.

At Grace Knight: In Concert audiences can expect an unforgettable evening of jazz classics with one of Australia’s most celebrated artists.

Hawthorn Arts Centre presents an exciting and varied arts program and is home to performance, exhibition, workshop and events spaces. Visitors can enjoy refreshments at the Events Bar or explore Hawthorn and discover the area’s culinary delights.
