Bunjil Place is excited to host an 80’s style Rollerama extravaganza for the very first time, taking over the Plaza these school holidays. Complete with special events including RollerFit classes, classic roller-themed films playing on the Big Screen, as well as Roller Disco nights fit for the whole family from Friday 9th until Sunday 18th April.
Skate sessions are 30 minutes long and $7 each which includes skate hire and preparation. Select sessions will include games and prizes up for grabs, and the rink is wheelchair accessible for all sessions without the use of skates, in addition to ‘quiet sessions’ on offer during the holidays.
Varied times apply for roller sessions, and can be viewed on the website here, bookings are encouraged to avoid disappointment.
Boogie down at the all-ages disco nights taking place Friday 9th and 16th April from 7-9.30pm. Perfect for the family, enjoy a nostalgic roll around the rink to synth tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s featuring a live DJ, skate performer Amy AKA RollerGirl, and more. Roller Disco tickets are $15 which includes 30 minutes on the rink, a drink and a snack, and other food and beverages are also available for purchase at the event. Adult Roller Disco sessions (18+) are taking place on Saturday 10th and 17th April from 7-9.30pm.
Whether you’re a seasoned skater or putting on the wheels for the very first time, fitness group RollerFit will be conducting a few sessions to bring skaters of all skillsets up to speed. The accredited coaches at RollerFit have a background in artistic roller skating, roller derby, roller dance or park skating, with sessions running for an hour at only $10 each. Learn different skate skills, tricks, drills and games with the experts. Sessions for kids and adults will take place Monday 12th, Thursday 15th and Sunday 18th April.
In addition, roller-themed classics will play on the Big Screen. Iconic films include Xanadu showing on Sunday 11th April from 5pm, as well as Whip It which screens on the last evening on Sunday 18th April from 5pm.
Bookings for all events are essential and can be done online via bunjilplace.com.au/rollerama. Walk-up guests are welcome to purchase tickets on the day but are subject to number restrictions. Bunjil Place is an award-winning cultural precinct in the City of Casey that first opened in 2017.
