Dr Morse presents Duck Duck Orange in their luscious and leafy courtyard

As part of Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, the leafy courtyard of Collingwood’s Dr Morse will play host to a night of crispy duck and orange wine under starry skies for Duck Duck Orange on Thursday 26 March. Diners will feast on a number of shared dishes, leaving fingers sticky and hearts happy for only $43 per person.

Set against a curated backdrop of blended acapellas, conversations and instrumental soundscapes by Jack Danzey and Dr Condiments, the event showcases duck sourced from the Macedon Ranges, orange wine from small local wineries, while the music will reference the origins of duck through genres, countries and decades.

The shared menu will feature Asian-inspired techniques led by head chef Ashok Monks. Expect to devour the following:

  • Duck heart skewer with Sichuan duck rillettes
  • Confit duck leg with pancakes and pickles
  • Duck breast bao buns with cucumber, herbs and condiments
  • Duck fat potatoes with chloe leaves and duck fat vinaigrette

With duck and orange a mouth-watering pairing, guests can opt for a number of skin-contact wines from boutique Victorian winemakers, including Amrit from the Mornington Peninsula, Latta from Coghills Creek, Jumping Juice from the Yarra Valley and Jamsheed from Preston.

In addition to wine, guests can purchase alcohol-free tonics made with native botanicals by the team at Dr Morse.

Guests are encouraged to bring along a group of friends and will be treated to sounds from DJ’s Jack Danzey and DC (pictured left). Local sweethearts of the Melbourne music scene, the DJs have played a myriad of gigs together, sharing a passion for all things weird and wonderful, while never taking themselves too seriously.

Playing to audiences far and wide, from Croatia to Berlin, Meredith to Tatyoon, and Collingwood to Brunswick West, at Duck Duck Orange the DJs will play samples from the 60s, 90s, Asia and France, accentuating the history of cooked duck from peking to Duck à l’orange.
