Boroondara Arts School Holiday Program will bring magic to Spring

The Boroondara Arts Spring School Holiday Program will take over Hawthorn Arts Centre and Kew Court House this September and October. Children aged 5 – 12 can let their creativity run wild as they take part in craft workshops, dance lessons and enjoy a live music performance by Inventi Ensemble.

WORKSHOPS:

Make a Wand workshop
Aspiring witches and wizards are invited to enter the fantastical world of witches, wizards and mythical creatures by making their very own magic wand. Kids and grown-ups alike are welcome to join in the fun. For children aged 5-12.

Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance 
A musical theatre workshop with Melbourne’s leading entertainment establishment, Ministry of Dance. Children can inspire their imagination through dance, acting and song.

Create a Mosaic Clock workshop
The chance to create and design a personalised clock. Create your very own clock! Participants will up-cycle plates and use mosaic techniques to make a unique clock and stand. All materials provided, for children aged 5–12.

A Taste of Circus workshop
Kids aged 5–12 can run away with Calligraphy Circus these school holidays. In this 90-minute workshop, they’ll learn the essential tricks of the trade, including juggling, hula hooping, plate spinning and more.

Create Superhero Armour workshop
Superheros assemble! Participants will design blueprints for their very own superhero armour and create it out of foam to be ready for battle. All materials provided. For children aged 5-12.

PERFORMANCE:

Inventi Ensemble Explores the Planets (Pictured above) 
Don’t miss Inventi Ensemble exploring Gustav Holst’s classical masterpiece ‘The Planets’ at Kew Court House. This special school holidays performance will unearth stories behind the music and feature astronomical projections. For children aged 5-12.
