SUNNYSIDE
Sunnyside is a bold large-scale art experience in Ballarat, presented by award-winning creative studio The Social Crew. Held in November 2025, the inaugural edition featured internationally renowned UK artist Morag Myerscough with her spectacular installation Chasing Sunbeams at the historic Mining Exchange. Known for her exuberant use of colour and pattern, Myerscough transformed the heritage space into a vibrant celebration of joy, belonging, and creativity — marking her first major large-scale work in regional Australia.
Extending beyond the main installation, Sunnyside unfolded throughout Ballarat in a playful program of community collaborations, artist talks, workshops, and hidden creative activations. The project reflected The Social Crew’s passion for place-based storytelling and immersive public art, and drew on the energy of local artists including Siobhan Finn, Tegan Crosbie, Pauline O’Shannesy-Dowling, and Carly Pitts.
A collaboration between global creatives and the Ballarat community, Sunnyside invited visitors to explore the intersection of heritage and contemporary art, and to experience Ballarat through colour, sound, and connection.
