Oriental Teahouse Turn Up the Heat for World Hot Sauce Day

The new year at Oriental Teahouse is coming in hot with a six-course dinner matched with a variety of hot sauces in honour of World Hot Sauce Day, taking place on Tuesday 22 January.

The masters of hand-made dumplings at Oriental Teahouse are teaming up with everyone’s favourite hot sauce maker, Melbourne Hot Sauce Company, to put tastebuds to the test and tongues through some serious heat.

The intimate affair will be hosted at Oriental Teahouse’s Chapel St bar upstairs Zhou Zhou, and also at the CBD teahouse on Lt. Collins Street where diners will sit at large communal tables. Spice up your night with mates and discover the optimal hot sauce to dumpling ratio as each course is brought out.

For $65 per person, hot sauce and yum cha lovers alike can expect the following matches:

BBQ pork bun (1) matched with Chipotle BBQ Ginger prawn dumplings (2) with Harbanero Roja Roast duck spring rolls (2) with Hop Smoked Jalapeno China fried chicken ribs (2) with Habanero & Mango Pork and chives dumplings (2) with Smoked Jalapeno Wagyu beef dumplings (2) with Bhut Jolokia

There will also be unlimited beer from Mountain Goat to cool the senses between courses. Zhou Zhou bar will have Goat Lager on tap available anytime for diners, whereas Oriental Teahouse in the city will have an endless supply of Summer ale tinnies doing the rounds.

One lucky person will also receive the chance to win a mystery hamper which will include a selection of hot sauces and craft beers, courtesy of Melbourne Hot Sauce Co. and Mountain Goat.
