Feast of the Barrel – a night of whisky, beer and barbecue at Fancy Hank’s

The team at Fancy Hank’s has teamed up with Wolf of the Willows Brewery and Tasmania’s Lark Distillery to bring you a special one-time dinner, Feast of the Barrel – whisky, beer and barbecue at Fancy Hank’s on Thursday 18th October from 7pm.

Set to be a delectable night of Victorian craft beer, Tasmanian single malt whisky and barbecue, the concept for the event is centred around The Barrel Exchan­ge Project 2018 – a unique exchange of ideas, passion and whisky casks between Wolf and the Willows and Lark Distillery.

Wolf of the Willows brewer Scott McKinnon travelled to Hobart to meet Lark Distillery founder Bill Lark, and together they carefully selected Lark whisky casks for McKinnon to bring back to his Cheltenham brewery. The casks were then filled with Wolf of the Willows Imperial Johnny Smoked Porter and left to age. Once the porter worked its magic, the barrels were returned to Hobart where they were then refilled with Lark single malt whisky. Finally, the barrels have ended up in Melbourne again – this time in the Fancy Hank’s kitchen, where head chef Daniel Inzunza will use the beer and whisky-soaked barrel wood to smoke the meats served on the night.

Inzunza has created a sensational menu bound to be an indulgence of the senses. Enjoy the journey of exceptional food, beer and single malt whiskey as McKinnon and Lark personally guide you through the night.
