Yorta Yorta singer/songwriter Benny Walker will seduce audiences with his signature love songs and epic tales at the Kew Court House on Saturday 2 June.
Benny Walker: Wine, Women and Soul will mix Benny’s passion for people and deep grooves, as he switches from piano to guitar in a special show that will reach the soul. This intimate Kew Court House performance follows Benny’s recent gigs at Byron Bay’s Bluesfest where he headlined Boomerang Festival 2018.
Benny has recently worked with producer Jan Skubiszewski to create a mix of blues and roots with a contemporary guitar driven soul vibe.
This performance features highlights from Benny’s Undercover EP and classics from his back catalogue in the evocative surroundings of Kew Court House.
Nominated for four NIMA awards in 2016, Benny was awarded Best Aboriginal Act at The Age Music Victoria Awards 2016 and has performed alongside some of Australia’s finest, including Archie Roach, Alex Lloyd, Blue King Brown and Tim Rogers.
Last year Benny released his single GHOST from the EP Undercover; both debuting at No.1 on the iTunes Blues Chart.
The Kew Court House is a small performing arts venue presenting some of Australia’s most exciting artists. A former courthouse and police station, the heritage-listed building presents one-of-a-kind experiences that music lovers won’t get anywhere else in Melbourne.
